Ion-mask Enters The Golf Market

28/05/2008
Discribed as a quantum leap, ion-mask technology was originaly developed for the military to repel chemical agents. It now enters the leisure industry in spring 2009 through a combination of Hi-Tec Sports Ltd and P2i Ltd to provide a worlds first range of ion-mask footwear.

This incredible plasma technology coats the objects with an invisible polymer mask that repels water and oil without effecting the look or feel of the shoe. It offers the possibility to remove the waterproof membrane, reducing the weight of the shoe and remaining light in wet conditions as the water is repelled. It's also makes the shoe more breathable than a conventional membrane, allows easy cleaning and is stain resistant.

The possibilities are endless for Hi-Tec as they enhance there already successfull golf range. Offering a significantly lighterweight waterproof performance shoe will challange their competitors. Styling is going to be of paramount importance, but if they get it right this could be a massively significant change for the golf market.

Interestingly, what other possibilities does ion-mask offer?
