Late Hitter Strikes Back

11/04/2008

John Sendon opened up with an 8 over par 80 but has made a great recovery during the 2nd round of the Masters. Playing the front nine holes in 3 under he has placed himself in with a strong chance of making the cut on his first appearence at Augusta.

This Australian player who adopts a very late hitting action produces a terrific ball contact which I first obsereved at the 2007 Open Champioship at Royal Liverpool. This type of technique is unusal in the modern game as the emphasis is often on a body release mechanisium.

It was great to watch a simple and powerful action in full flow and one that is bound to produce results and one that will last the test of time.

It would be great to see John challenge this year in the Majors and improve on his best Major finish of a 4th place in the 2007 PGA Championship.
